LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/20/09 -- "Another Harvest Moon," a just completed independent theatrical film starring some of Hollywood's most beloved, award-winning veteran actors, will have its world premiere at the Rhode Island International Film Festival on August 7, with most of the principal cast attending.
This is the 199th film in the continuing career of 92-year-old Oscar® and BAFTA® winner Ernest Borgnine ("Marty"), who will be in Rhode Island to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. He has just been nominated for his third Emmy® for his guest performance in "ER."
Joining him will be fellow cast members -- three-time Oscar® nominee Piper Laurie ("Children of a Lesser God," "Carrie," "The Hustler"), four-time Emmy® nominee Anne Meara ("Homicide: Life on the Street," "Archie Bunker's Place," "Kate McShane") and four-time Emmy® winner Doris Roberts ("Everybody Loves Raymond," "St. Elsewhere").
Also starring are Richard Schiff, Emmy® and SAG Award winner for his role in "The West Wing," and Cybill Shepherd, a four-time Emmy® nominee ("Cybill," "Moonlighting") and Golden Globe® winner for "Moonlighting."
"Another Harvest Moon," an Aurora Films and SMD Productions presentation, is the powerful emotional story of four elderly residents in a nursing home who become like family to each other, with all the bickering, loving and caring that such relationships entail. But three generations of their families are conflicted, too, as their lives and love for each other are torn by the difficult decisions they must face.
The film was produced by Bobby Black, Chad Taylor and Jason Weiss, directed by Greg W. Swartz and written by Jeremy T. Black, based on his own stage play. Steven M. Delamater served as executive producer.
