WPL Publishing to Host Webinar on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Construction(February 14, 2014)
Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 14, 2014
In less than a week, WPL Publishing will hold a webinar to help a wide variety of professionals within the construction industry understand and address the many forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) available to them.
Numerous ADR techniques have been developed and implemented, all with the end goal of resolving disputes without resorting to traditional, time-consuming, and expensive litigation. The webinar discusses nearly 30 forms of ADR that are being used in the construction industry. While some techniques are merely variations of a theme, all are different, and all have advantages and disadvantages that should be considered prior to selection. The various forms of ADR are presented in logical order, following a dispute from the project site to the adjudicative forum. To register for the 90-minute webinar, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. (EST), visit http://tinyurl.com/jw9grlg.
During the webinar, attendees will learn about pre-dispute dispute-resolution methods. The program also will enable them to review dispute-resolution methods during the initial claims and dispute phase. In addition, they will become conversant with ADR during litigation.
Addressing attendees will be David Halligan, associate director in the Global Construction Practice of Navigant Consulting Inc., and Navigant Construction Forum Executive Director James Zack.
Halligan has 22 years of experience providing clients with schedule delay analyses, construction management, project controls, and claims resolution assistance on various heavy civil and facilities projects. He has supported clients with schedule and cost control, cost audits, change order management, and in resolving disputes related to delay and loss-of-efficiency claims. He also has conducted management procedures compliance audits on several large civil engineering infrastructure programs. He has testified in federal court and state court as an expert in construction delay. He has performed schedule and labor productivity analyses on diverse assignments, including tunneling, underground pipe installation, transportation projects, residential projects, commercial projects, water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, military and high-tech facilities, correctional facilities, dams, and high-rise office buildings.
Zack once served as executive director of Corporate Claims Management for Fluor Corp. He also held the position of vice president at PinnacleOne and CH2M Hill Inc. With more than 40 years of experience, he is a recognized expert in mitigation, analysis, and resolution or defense of construction claims. He is a certified forensic claims consultant, a certified construction manager, and a project management professional.
Following their presentations, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/jw9grlg.
