Vela to Demonstrate Full Line of Compact, Super High Video Quality, Continuous-Operation, Live Streaming Encoding, Decoding and Transcoding Solutions at NAB 2013(March 14, 2013)
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) March 14, 2013
Vela Research announced that it will be demonstrating the its full line-of professional high quality streaming solutions designed specifically for demanding live streaming environments at NAB 2013 in Las Vegas.
All three streaming products are based upon a system-on-a-chip architecture, and offer multiple I/O options, as well as the ability to support a wide variety of formats, resolutions, bitrates and framerates. All three products come with a variety of I/O options, are capable of supporting the most common audio formats, and are packaged in ultra-compact, ruggedized appliances made of aircraft-grade aluminum. The three products are:
1. UltraStreamHD Velocita Encoder. A powerful real-time encoding device with the capability to encode SD and HD 1920x1080i and 1280x720p resolutions at both NTSC and PAL framerates, and 1920x1080p encoding at up to 60 frames per second. Designed with demanding and highly variable encoding requirements in mind, the UltraStreamHD produces unparalleled video quality with full resolution encoding at bitrates as low as 300Kbps and up to as high as 40 Mbps, making it extremely utilitarian in all types of content creation, re-purposing and origination environments. This encoder also supports EIA 708B and 608B Closed Captioning requirements and streaming via IP in Unicast or Multicast modes using UDP or RTP, and RTSP.
2. CineWaveHD Continuum Decoder: A real-time streaming decoder that supports MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, VC1 and MPEG4 Part 2 unicast or multicast in UDP or RTP and RSTP. This appliance also supports upconversion and downconversion, hardware-based scaling of video outputs, It also supports a multitude of professional quality features such as HD/SD 3G SDI output with embedded audio, Genlock, Analog, HDMI and SPDIF digital audio outputs, EIA 608 and 708 Closed Captioning and other VANC data, and NTSC, PAL and Cinema formats up to 1080P 60.
3.UltraStreamHD IP2IP Transcoder: Similar to the other two real-time streaming and continuous operation devices, the IP2IP comes as an ultra-compact, ruggedized, yet highly agile and multi-dimensional system. It is capable of transcoding, transrating and scaling to broadcast quality video covering the entire range from full 1080P@60 down to mobile resolutions as low as 160x120. The IP2IP system is capable extensive format support and versatile scaling, frame rate conversion and transrating.
All three of these products are also available as board-level products for use by OEMs and customers seeking to roll out large-scale networks with these capabilities.
Kevin Grubbs, Vela's Director of Engineering, said, "These systems have been architected around a robust System-on-a-chip (SOC) architecture, and designed to operate in highly demanding professional environments requiring very high quality video, a wide range of audio and I/O alternatives, ease of integration and low-maintenance operation. All of these solutions come with highly intuitive GUIs to help rapid integration and operation."
Vela's President Mike Reddy said, "Vela is excited to demonstrate this matching set of high performance, low latency, extremely high video quality solutions for encoding, decoding and transcoding on a real-time, non-stop operation. These systems come with professional features such as full Closed Captioning and Genlock - and encompass the entire waterfront in terms of the most common formats, resolutions, frame rates, streaming bit rates and audio formats. These solutions provide operators the abilities to maximize the return they can generate from two key assets - their customer franchises, and their unique content. These solutions enable our customers to deliver content to the broadest possible customer demographics and interests, and to enable those customers to receive the content in the widest possible set of resolutions, formats and bitrates, and on the most diverse set of receiving devices."
