A few weeks ago I showed that a Microsoft Surface 3 could successfully run a full on non-linear video editor using Sony Vegas 13 Pro as the host program. But I wanted to see how the 'experience' of using the Surface Pro was, that is in use, how it would fare and was it actually usable as against simply capable? To start with, I really threw a challenge at it, loading up some 4K footage shot from Panasonic's HC-X1000 pro camera. The footage was ingested with no fuss and throwing it on the timeline caused no protests from either Vegas or the Surface. Read More
