Rick Otton Podcast Reveals Why Property Investors Should Get to Know Real Estate Agents(July 09, 2014)
(PRWEB) July 09, 2014
Leading educator and author on the Australian property investing, Rick Otton, has recently released a podcast in which he reveals the often-overlooked tips and tricks to developing good working relationships with real estate agents.
In particular, for students of his highly successful and innovative real estate investing strategies, Mr. Otton reveals how productive partnerships with real estate professionals can greatly increase their chances of success.
Unlike doctors or cab drivers, real estate agents are people who we might only come in to contact with a handful of times in our whole lifetime, said Mr. Otton. As a result, there is a bit of a barrier to good relationships, because the association is largely based on one transaction like buying or selling a house and once its done, thats the end of that, Mr Otton said.
But for those who use my strategies, its proven that having a good relationship with local real estate agents can really help in generating leads and cutting down the legwork required to achieve success. I think my chat with Shane in this latest podcast really showed that, Mr. Otton explained.
Based on Shanes experience over three years, between 50%-70& of transactions can come through real estate agents. If you look at those figures, you quickly see why its in an investor's best interests to be on good terms with them.
The basics of putting down good foundations for a relationship are in good networking, whether thats attending local meetings for developers and real estate agents or approaching the office directly and having a coffee with them, said Mr. Otton.
To build rapport, get to know the agents in a professional ligh, and ask how they got into the business, how long theyve been in the job and even details of their favourite deal. All of these things get people talking and make them feel more at ease, he continued.
Once you have these relationships in place, you can focus on the transaction itself, and make sure to highlight the win-win nature of the deals and how you can help the agent convert their non-performing properties into signed, sealed and delivered sales and commissions.
Shane is a great example of all of this, and has even added a few great innovations of his own, and that why this latest podcast for our We Buy Houses Radio Show is such a great one well worth listening to, said Mr. Otton.
