Narconon Louisiana Releases New Documentary About the Long-Term Success of One of Its Graduates

Denham Springs, Louisiana (PRWEB) March 18, 2014

Narconon Louisiana is commemorating the 48th anniversary of the Narconon New Life Program with the release of a new documentary focusing on the success of one of its graduates. The film was shot at the facility in Denham Springs, Louisiana and highlights the effectiveness of its long-term program which focuses on developing life skills.

By focusing on life skills, Narconon believes graduates are much more likely to go on to live happy, healthy lives using the tools and guidance they receive while on the program. We feel Narconons individualized approach to drug rehabilitation, focusing on life skills and handling the effects of past problems is what allows the majority of our graduates to go on to be sober, contributing members of society, says Kelley Keeney, Facility Administrator.

The creation of the program in 1966 by then inmate William Benitez introduced the tradition of rehabilitating individuals based on the idea that each of us has within ourselves the ability to live life without the need for drugs and alcohol. The first participants of the program were inmates in the Arizona Penitentiary when their fellow inmate Benitez realized it was not a moral problem which had caused him to abuse drugs and alcohol, rather a lack of ability.

The focus of creating abilities instead of identifying weaknesses is the hallmark of the program which has subsequently grown to aid thousands of addicts lead drug-free lives. The Narconon Program treats addiction not as a disease, but as a set of unwanted behaviors that are an attempt to solve an underlying problem(s). When these behaviors began, they solved the problem(s) for the individualhowever, they eventually stop working. Then begins a downward spiral of addiction which, without intervention, will result in complete dependence on drugs or alcohol.

Narconon New Life Retreat joins Narconons around the world in celebrating this 48th anniversary. The Narconon Program has continued to expand, evolving from its simple beginnings into a network of over 120 drug prevention and drug-free rehabilitation centers worldwide. The dedicated staffs of Narconons worldwide have helped to rehabilitate thousands of addicts and continue to work tirelessly to educate millions on the truth about drugs.
