Kingdom.com Recognized as Top 1,000 Ecommerce Site in US, Canada by Internet Retailer
MANSFIELD, Pa., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --For the first time in its storied history, online retailer Kingdom (http://www.kingdom.com/) has been applauded by a major ecommerce industry research organization. Internet Retailer (http://www.internetretailer.com/), publisher of the Top 500 Guide (http://www.top500guide.com/) and Second 500 Guide, ranked Kingdom at #912 in its listings for 2014. Within the Primary Merchandise Category of Computers/Electronics, the company earned a spot at #28.
Internet Retailer's Second 500, of which Kingdom is now a member, seeks to identify the most disruptive and fastest-growing web merchants in North America. Kingdom's recent metrics demonstrate that these accolades are well deserved. The site attracts more than 80,000 visitors a month and growing. Likewise, at last count, Kingdom had 3,300 unique products for sale across a variety of categories.
Executive Director Michael Ritter is not surprised by Kingdom's success; he explained that the company and its founders, Johnny and Juanita Berguson, have never forgotten their humble beginnings. As Evangelical Christians, the Bergusons see the mission of Kingdom to glorify God by helping customers churches, schools and businesses advance His Kingdom.
Kingdom specializes in high-quality audiovisual equipment from some of the world's leading manufacturers, including Peavey, Sennheiser, Sony, Shure, Mackie, JVC and AVTronics. The retailer has also developed its own line of branded equipment and accessories, known as Kingdom Exclusive, to meet specific customer requests.
The core of Kingdom's business is churches, and as such, the retailer provides a wide selection of communion supplies, lecterns, displays, posters, books and other inspiring media. For 30-plus years, the company has provided audio and video production capabilities in a state-of-the-art digital facility, helping small and large congregations meet their communication and outreach needs. Among the services offered are studio mastering, computer animation and interactive technologies. Kingdom offers professional post-production services such as digital editing, along with free consultation for speakers and organizations who need help realizing a specific vision.
The story of Kingdom is one of inspiration and perseverance. The company started in a basement in 1980, after Johnny Berguson and his beloved performing horse Sheik found themselves with no appearance dates on the calendar. Since then, Kingdom has steadily grown into one of the leading online suppliers of audiovisual technology equipment and accessories. In keeping with its Evangelical foundations, the company also offers an assortment of Christian-themed gifts, jewelry and framed art.
Ritter concluded: "All who work at Kingdom are excited and glad to be part of what God is doing through the products and services the company provides to our customers."
Not content to rest on its laurels, Kingdom has plans to add office supplies and furniture to its product catalog later this summer.
Founded in 1980 by Johnny Berguson, Kingdom Inc. began as a home business with a single product a recorded audio cassette course on horse training. From there, Kingdom began to supply churches and other organizations with blank cassette tapes and high-speed cassette duplicators. Today, Kingdom is one of the largest suppliers of audiovisual equipment, including CD and DVD duplicators, microphones, video projectors, blank CDs, blank DVDs, on disc printing and more. Twice, Kingdom has been listed as one of the 500 fastest growing, privately owned companies in America, as recognized by Inc. Magazine.
