DocbookMD Launches Web Version of its Mobile Healthcare App(April 30, 2014)
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) April 30, 2014
DocbookMD, a leading mobile healthcare communications solution developed by two physicians from Austin, Texas, announced it has launched a web version of its critical communications app thats popular among doctors in hospitals, ERs and private practices alike.
Mobile is still at the core of what DocbookMD offers, but with our new web version, users will now have a unified communication platform which can be accessed by physicians and their staff, regardless of what device they may be using, says Tim Gueramy, MD, CEO and Co-Founder of DocbookMD. The key is to allow healthcare professionals to communicate at the point of care delivery, which is why a platform enabling both mobile and web-based access is so critical in patient care today.
DocbookMDs popularity stems in part from its open, but protected, approach to healthcare communication. The app is available as a free download to members of any participating state or county medical society - available in 40 states across America. DocbookMD uses the medical societies robust directories as the basis for each doctors profile and point of contact - so that each physician is easily verified and has access to other physicians in their state or region instantly. In contrast to other companies in this space, physician contact data are strictly protected from outside interests, never sold, shared or reproduced.
Leveraging the 280,000 active US physicians in their exclusive database, the company launched Docbook Enterprise in October 2013, to better serve the communication needs of all physicians and their support staff within practices, groups and large hospitals. A recent agreement signed with Memorial Hermann Physicians Network (MHMD) resulted from a desire among their physicians to communicate with doctors in and out of their own system. DocbookMD is uniquely positioned to allow for easy connections within and outside of large hospital systems, thanks to their enormous network of physicians. This allows care to easily follow the patient after hospital discharge or transfer to a new facility. Physicians are demanding more, not less, freedom to communicate with a much wider community of healthcare providers in order to coordinate the best care for their patients. Our new web version gives them even more flexibility, Dr. Gueramy notes.
The new web version is an extension of the same functionality currently available in the mobile app. Healthcare organizations are moving toward a unified solution that not only provides greater flexibility to practice medicine but also ensures patient data stays protected. The addition of our web version means that 100% of devices available to a healthcare organization can be tied into a single platform, Gueramy says.
