Deleted 'Dallas Buyers Club' Scene Has Leto In Treatment

By DMO Affiliate
Jared Leto has been impressive enough to win a SAG Award and Golden Globe for his transgender AIDS patient in Dallas Buyers Club , yet even some of his standout performance was left on the cutting-room floor.A deleted scene from the new Blu-ray and DVD release of the Oscar-nominated drama, out today, shows a scene in the Dallas hospital where Leto's Rayon is in a room with fellow patients getting their regular dose of pills-or, as Rayon puts it, "suppertime." It's an emotional sequence for Leto as his character looks around the room at the others suffering from AIDS and his doctor puts a hand on Rayon's shoulder in a comforting gesture. At the Academy Awards March 2, Leto is a favorite to win best supporting actor for his portrayal of Rayon, who partners with fellow HIV-positive patient and cowboy Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) to set up a business to sell non-approved drugs to their clients out of a hotel room.
