DeLclima Air Conditioning for a New Complex in a Next-Eleven Country

  (June 24, 2014)

TREVISO, Italy, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

DeLclima units installed in the new multi-use complex for Bangladesh Army

Bangladesh is a developing nation and a rapidly-growing market-based economy. It is one of the world's leading exporters of textiles and garments, as well as fish, seafood and jute, and has globally competitive emerging industries in shipbuilding, life sciences and technology.

The country has seen a dramatic increase in foreign direct investment. In order to enhance economic growth, the government set up several export processing zones to attract foreign investment.

Goldman Sachs recognized the Bangladeshi economy as one of the Next Eleven. Citigroup identified Bangladesh as a 3G country with significant potential to generate global growth.

Bangladesh is a major South Asian ally of the United States. The two countries have long-standing partnerships in development, defense, energy, business, trade, education, health and the environment. The US Military and the Bangladesh Armed Forces have long-standing strategic relations and host frequent joint military exercises, particularly in counter-terrorism and maritime security.

As of 2012, the current strength of the army was around 300,000 including reservists, the air force of 22,000 people, and the navy with 24,000 people. In addition to traditional defensive roles, the military has been called on to provide support to civil authorities for disaster relief and internal security during periods of political unrest.

With this respect a new military academy has been built in Chittagong, the second biggest city in the country. The modern tower plays an important role in increasing training facilities for members of the Bangladeshi Armed Forces, other countries' military officials as well as the country's civil administrative officers. The impressive building, that perfectly integrates into the surroundings thanks to the structure and the colour, is fully air conditioned by DeLclima units. More than 55 units divided into air handling units, chillers and terminal units to grant the best comfort in the building.

The complex will act as a bridge for consolidating inter-country relationships and for maintaining friendly relations between civil and military administrations.
