Axle Video unveils mobile search interface at InfoComm 2014, June 18-20
BOSTON, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Axle Video is using this week's InfoComm show, June 18-20 (booth N2113) in Las Vegas as its stage to unveil a new mobile interface for managing media files. Axle 2014, the latest version of axle's award-winning software, turns your smartphone into a platform for searching, viewing, and approving your media, making your media library accessible wherever you are.
Axle Video is a Boston-based startup that is developing software to address the challenges created by the rising importance of digital video. Axle brings the search, review, and annotation features previously only available to high-end broadcasters to any facility struggling to manage a growing mountain of media files.
While the amount of video being captured is growing rapidly, tools for managing it have lagged. Designed for intuitiveness and simplicity, axle's software catalogs video and other media files (including audio, image and PDFs) and presents the media library through any standard web browser. Prices to purchase the software start at under $2,000, and provide video features beyond what a standard cloud-based system like Dropbox would provide.
Tens of thousands of facilities worldwide have large and growing needs in this area, including
- Sports teams and venues
- Houses of worship
- Corporate video departments
- Charitable organizations
- Universities, colleges and K-12
"We were impressed with how quickly and simply axle could be set up and implemented into the video workflow for our online school, Berkleemusic.com," said Craig Reed, video producer at Boston's Berklee College of Music media department. "We began using it almost immediately to track content, support review and approval processes, and mark up raw content for rough cut decisions. The browser-based interface makes it easy for different teams to quickly find the content they need, and for our remote clients to easily review media and provide feedback"
This year is the first that axle Video has exhibited at InfoComm, giving the attendees an opportunity to learn more about a crucial aspect of communications management that is often neglected. Effective asset management makes media easier to find, review, and deploy, critical capabilities in a communications landscape bursting with digital video. Axle brings radically simple media management to every organization that needs it.
