The TS150 Mill is a fast, efficient and affordable open-source milling unit with a powerful, air-driven 150,000 rpm spindle. Featuring an orbital precision milling strategy that preserves the marginal integrity of the final restoration, this in-office milling solution can be used to mill precision-fitting restorations from a variety of materials, including glass ceramic, resin nano ceramic, zirconia and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA).
Integration of the TS150 Mill with the 3M True Definition Scanner and 3Shape TRIOS is possible due to the use of an open source file format called UDX, or Universal Dental Exchange. The work product of OXDIG (http://www.oxdig.org), UDX enables interoperability between software systems that integrate the standard into their solutions. Using this open source file format, the TS150 is capable of communicating with scanners, design software and lab management systems.
Just like the IOS FastScan, the 3M True Definition Scanner and 3Shape TRIOS will seamlessly integrate with the IOS FastDesign CAD software and TS150 Mill, says IOS Technologies President David Casper, making any of these intraoral scanners an excellent choice for dentists who are looking for an easy way to incorporate a complete in-office milling solution into their practice.
