Anite to Integrate OPTICOM's PEVQ-S Streaming Video Analysis in Nemo Tools

As a result, network operators and service providers will be able to more accurately evaluate their streaming video service levels from a subscriber's viewpoint.
With a growing demand for OTT (over-the-top content) streaming video services (such as IPTV and YouTube) there is also an increasing need to accurately evaluate subscriber Quality-of-Experience (QoE) and Quality-of-Service (QoS). In addition, the wide variety of mobile devices offering different performance levels and screen sizes introduces new challenges for service providers. PEVQ-S is an advanced framework algorithm developed by OPTICOM for full-reference video quality analysis in adaptive streaming environments. It combines FR high accuracy video quality measurements with real-time measurements, even on mobile devices. PEVQ-S will enhance the streaming video quality testing capabilities of Nemo tools by offering standardised exact qualification of video quality and the ability to benchmark video streaming QoE levels, identify perceivable artifacts of network congestion, and to indicate the available headroom for optimisation. PEVQ-S algorithm will be implemented in the Nemo product line during the second half of 2014.
